Post-wise information regarding, Essential Qualifications, desirable & Job description in respect of Scientist posts are as under:
1. Mining Engineering
a) Essential Qualification: M. E./M. Tech in Mining Engineering
b) Desirable: Knowledge in preparation of Mine Plan/ EIA/ EMP/ Mine economics/ coal and noncoal mining methods/ Mine Mechanisation/ Rock Mechanics and numerical modelling/ rock blasting in mining and civil construction projects.
c) Job Description: Preparation of Mining Plan Preparation of EIA/EMP of both coal and noncoal projects. Numerical simulation in the field of Mining Methods Drilling and Blasting/Rock fragmentation by explosive Mine Mechanisation Rock Mechanics Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things and Data Analytics
2. Chemical Engineering
a) Essential Qualification: M. E./M. Tech in Chemical Engineering
b) Desirable: Knowledge in the area of characterization of catalyst, high pressure reactor systems and other reaction utilities for coal carbonization, combustion, gasification and conversion of coal to chemicals.
c) Job Description: Carry out R&D in the area for catalyst design and development. Design and development of bench scale/ pilot plants for various applications of coal carbonisation ,combustion, gasification, coal to syngas, methanol and other value added chemicals. R&D in coal to syngas and other chemicals, coal combustion, carbonisation and gasification.
3. Chemistry
a) Essential Qualification: Ph. D. submitted in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry
b) Desirable: Knowledge in the area of coal chemistry/ biomaterials & Biocomposites/ Biomass energy conversion/ catalyst synthesis/ Catalytic process/ Manufacturing of explosive and blasting accessories
c) Job Description: Develop test chemicals related to commercialised explosive and blasting accessories. Develop catalyst in the area of syngas to chemicals and liquid fuels. Work in downstream catalytic conversion of syngas to various chemicals Coal gasification potential and value addition.
4. Mechanical Engineering
a) Essential Qualification: M. E./M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
b) Desirable: Knowledge in machine design and simulation with CAD/ CAM/ CFD and other numerical modelling software/ Thermal Applications and associated thermodynamics in Power and Steel Plants
c) Job Description: Mathematical and numerical simulation for flow sheet development Computer aided design of coal washery and other mineral processing plants Process/plant design Thermal Applications and associated thermodynamics in Power and Steel Plants.
5. Geology
a) Essential Qualification: Ph. D. submitted in Geology/Applied Geology
b) Desirable: Knowledge in geological and geotechnical investigation/ hydrogeology/ coal petrology/ geological techniques and mapping/ structural geology/ geological software/ determination of geological age and isotope analysis.
c) Job Description: Geological survey/ analyse borehole logs/ maps and geotechnical classification of rock mass. Analysis of geological data isotope analysis and determination of geological age. Investigate and evaluate natural resource deposits
6. Environmental Science
a) Essential Qualification: Ph. D. submitted in Environmental Science/ Botany/ Ecology
b) Desirable: Knowledge in the areas of Restoration ecology/ Ecosystem analysis/ land use mapping/ ecological modelling and services quantification, Environmental Damage Assessment
c) Job Description: Land Reclamation. Quantification of ecological damages due to mine and industrial activities. Ecological modelling/ Cost computation for environmental compensation. Environmental Damage Assessment and Economics
Age: Upper age limit not exceeding (as on last date or receipt of application): For UR-32 Years; For SC/ST-37 Years; For OBC-35 Years.

Selection Procedure :
a. Mere fulfilment of educational qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The duly constituted Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria for short-listing the candidates. The candidate should therefore, mention in the application all the qualifications and experiences in the relevant area over and above the minimum prescribed qualification supported with documents. Submission/Completion of Ph.D. will be reckoned from the date of issue of provisional certificate/notification.
b. In case a candidate is staying abroad, his/her candidature may be considered in absentia by the Selection Committee on his/her written request.
How to Apply :
1. Eligible candidates may visit CIMFR Website www.cimfr.nic.in and download the Application Form. Application in the prescribed format may be submitted on A4 size thick/Xerox paper.
2. In case of University/Institute awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc. candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per guidelines of the University/Institute. Candidates are required to give the conversion formula, as per their university/institute guidelines.
3. The candidates must produce his/her ORIGINAL Graduation & Post-Graduation Mark Sheet and Provisional Pass Certificate, age and/or experience and caste/community certificate etc. at the time of interview/Screening process for verification. The candidates are requested to ensure while filling up the Application Form that any discrepancy found between the information given in the Application and as evident in original documents will make the candidate ineligible for appearing in interview and subsequent appointment.
4. The Candidate after filling the Application Form must sign the same and send it along with the web generated slip of online payment & other essential enclosures in an envelope superscribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF (Post Code: ), Advt. No. by Registered/Speed Post only to “The Administrative Officer, Central Institute of Mining & Fuel Research, Barwa Road, Dhanbad – 826001 (JHARKHAND)” so as to reach this office on or before 24/11/2020 by 5.30 PM.
5. Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will not be refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection process.
6. Candidates should specifically note that the Applications received after the closing date for any reason whatsoever (such as envelopes wrongly addressed, delivered elsewhere, postal delay, etc.) shall not be entertained.
7. Incomplete Applications in any respect (i.e. without photograph, unsigned and Application received without fee & enclosures if applicable etc.) will not be entertained and will be summarily rejected.
8. Applications from candidate working in Government Departments, Autonomous bodies, Public Sector Undertakings and Government Funded Research Agencies will be considered only if forwarded through proper channel, certified by the employer that the applicant will be relieved within one month of the receipt of the appointment orders, if selected. Vigilance clearance should also be recorded in such cases. However, advance copy of the application may be submitted on or before the closing date.
